A short version of a longer story — where I’ve been, what I’m doing, and what I keep coming back to.
I was born in Annapolis, Maryland, before moving to Georgia at the age of four, where I grew up in Blythe, Georgia.
I’m the fourth of eight children — an even split of four brothers and four sisters. Growing up, I spent much of my time participating in First Tee, Science Olympiad, MATHCOUNTS, and the Boy Scouts of America, where I was also a member of the Order of the Arrow.
I was homeschooled through most of my childhood before moving to Silver Spring, Maryland when I was sixteen.
My family history stretches across the country. On my father’s side, my ancestors helped establish Higgins, North Carolina, while on my mother’s side, my family traces back to the Mormon pioneers.
Today, I’m 25 years old and live in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, D.C., where I work in business.
Professionally, I’ve worn a few different hats. I previously worked as a Republican staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives, and before that, I sold smart home systems for Vivint.
